By "Corporate Social Responsibility" we don′t just understand Products with Responsibility. We have duties in the production process also.

The "Green Plastic" An outstanding energy balance has earned for EPS the accolade of the "green plastic". Scarcely any other material requires so little energy in its manufacture, and yet saves so much energy thereafter. The most valuable energy ist the energy saved.
  • The insulation of each home with EPS saves energy for heating and cooling. Outstandingly well insulated Passive Houses makes it possible today to live comfortably, without continually burdening both natural resources and the climate.
  • In terms of disposal, EPS is efficiently recyclable or can serve as a high value source of energy in thermal recycling.
  • We avoid the discharge of climate-harming halogens by using Pentane as the blowing agent, which does not function as a "greenhouse gas".
  • EPS polymer is harmless to health and has a neutral effect on groundwater.
Responsible Care SUNPOR does not just care for the future of tomorrow′s world in terms of our products; this care extends to our production activity also. At both the St. Pölten-Stattersdorf and the St. Pölten-Radlberg sites we produce according to the standard of Responsible Care, which is valued worldwide as the most demanding level of commitment in the chemical industry. It confirms the fulfilment of a manner of production which meets the most advanced standards beneficial to the environment and to health. With targeted investments, we as a petrochemical company endeavour to live up to our responsibility for the people and the climate.
  • The use of steam energy from a biomass heating plant saves annually the equivalent of a raw energy volume of 2 million cubic metres of natural gas.
  • A regenerative thermal oxidation unit at each site neutralises any steam emissions in the most efficient manner possible.
  • In co-operation with research institutes we have helped to set new international yardsticks for a production operation with sound social and ecological judgement.
